Vacation Part 3

While we were on vacation we went to Longview to meet some friends for dinner(which I forgot to take a picture of them when we saw them-so sorry Bannerman's). We did stop off before dinner at Greg's neighbors house. Mr and Mrs. Baker still live in the house next door to where Greg grew up. Mr. Baker has been reading to kindergartners for 13 years. He is getting Caroline ready for kindergarten by reading her one of his favorite stories. On the way to Longview we stopped off in Kilgore at the Oil museum. This is a replica of what Kilgore used to look like.

I think Caroline's all-time favorite thing we did was go to the Children's Discovery Science Museum in Tyler. We ended up doing this two times while we were gone. Caroline calls it the "hands museum" because there are little hands all over the building. They had this great cave to walk through that had a platform you could stand on to see what it felt like to be in an earthquake, it has the big boat to climb all over, plus tons of other hands on things.
Of course Caroline's favorite things in the museum were the making food stations. Here she is in a pizza parlor getting food ready for Greg and Eli. There was also a TV station that had a cooking section in it where she spent a lot time, not to mention the grocery store.
Eli and Elizabeth were not as involved in all the playing as Caroline was. As long as they were fed and could sleep they were happy.
Of course what trip to the museum is complete without a picture as a pirate! Too bad the flash messed up part of the picture... but you get the idea!
At the end of our trip on our way home we swung by Royse City for a wedding... well we also went to Aunt Mays house to change clothes for the wedding... this is of Eli and Elizabeth as we were getting them ready for the wedding... can you believe the difference in skin tones?
No picture is complete without Caroline...
