Magic Muck

This morning we had some "craft" time. It was actually experimenting time. We made magic muck... it would turn from a liquid to a solid and back again. You could ball it up in your hand then once you opened your hand it would ooze out of your hand. Caroline had a great time making this. It looks messy but was pretty easy to clean up.

New Friend

We watched one of our friend little boy, Cooper, while they had dinner. Caroline loves Cooper. Unfortunately they are both smiling just not both at the camera... such is the life of taking pics of more than one child at a time. Now he looks at the camera, while Caroline is off preparing for the next activity.
Caroline loves to fix people's hair... so she says "does Cooper want me to fix his hair" I said I am sure he does but use the soft brush... so here she is... loving every minute... Cooper on the other hand tolerated it well since he had some toys to play with.

The only thing Caroline complained about was that he "drooled" on her toys... she is ok sharing most of her toys but is not too sure about the drool. I tried to explain that it is normal and that she drooled A LOT when she was a baby but I don't think it made her feel much better:) We had a great time playing with Cooper though. I am sure you will see more of him... his nickname is "mr. bear" and Caroline thinks that is the funniest name.

Spring Time

It is finally warm enough that when Caroline asks "can I wear my bathing suit and play in the water?" I can say YES!!! She has been wanting to do this all winter long. She and her daddy played games with the water hose... first she ran through it (ok first it was with clothes on, then we let her put her bathing suit on)... Then she tried to jump over the water and last she went under it.

Here is a pic of my favorite flower blooming in my yard. The first flower Greg ever gave me was a purple iris similar to this one. I now have three of them blooming in my front flower bed.

Finally RAIN!!

Well as you might know we have been needing rain. If you read the previous post you would have read how we went camping but could not have a fire because of how dry everything has been. Well Caroline was so excited that it was raining and she could wear her raincoat and rain boots. She also wanted to wear her bathing suit and play in the rain, but the mean mommy I am I would not let her (it was 45 degrees outside)!Wednesday night Caroline's friend Addi spent the night with us because Addi's brother Jackson was having surgery Thursday and had to be at the hospital at 5:30am... I decided I would prefer Addi spend the night instead of waking up at 4:30am for Addi to come over. Well the girls had a great time at their "slumber party"! Addi decided she wanted to sleep in Caroline's room with her (which she has not wanted to in the past), then at 3am I am awoken by noise, go to Caroline's room and what do I find... lights on, toys everywhere and two little girls looking at me. I told them to turn the lights off and go back to bed. I woke up at 4:40am again, two little girls playing in C's room with the light on.... can you believe it at 4yrs old? Needless to say I was tired the next morning. Caroline still got up at 7am, but Addi slept til 9am... then a little after 9am...
another friend named Madelyn came over to play for a little while, so her mommy could go to a teacher conference. It was actually nice having all three girls. They entertained themselves, all I did was relax on the couch and monitor:)

First Family Camping Trip

This past weekend we went to Cleburn State Park for our first camping trip with all three of us. It was perfect weather for camping in a tent... no rain (always a plus when in a tent), temps in the high 70's to low 80's with lows in the 60's... perfect low since we could not have a fire due to the burn ban. Although it made cooking a bit more of a challenge but thankfully we had electricity at the site. We brought Caroline's bike, which she loved riding around our little circle at the campground as well as riding it to the park. When we first go there it was getting dark so we just had a few minutes to go "exploring" as Caroline calls it... I say hiking. Caroline got to be the "leader" so we were never sure where we would go next. It was a lot of fun, but we had to save the rest of the exploring until the next day.

It was not quite as dark as it looks in the picture because we could still see where we were going. This log was on the way to part of the lake and also a little amphitheater. We each took turns standing on the stage "performing". Sorry no pics or video of that:)

The next morning... after only Caroline got some sleep... those of you who don't know Caroline very well she loves to match her mommy and daddy... so courtesy of Grandma and Grandpa we all have on our matching t-shirts... Caroline was all smiles that we could all match (plus mommy and Caroline have matching hats)!!

When I first asked Caroline what her favorite thing about the camping trip was she said "the playground"... typical Caroline. I said what about sleeping in the tent "yeah", what about exploring "yeah", what about riding your bike "yeah'... so now she answers "everything". However if you ask her what her least favorite thing is she will say "the boys"... There was one little boy when she was riding her bike that ran after her with an empty water gun pretending to shoot her... she did not like that... also at the park three little boys came to play and they would ride in the cars and she did not like having to share her cars... one of the cars is the last picture. Over all we had a great time and plan to do more camping as it gets nicer outside.

Museum Again!

Well Tricia and I took the girls to the Mayborn Museum again. Tricia had to pick up something from Waco so we just made a little day trip out of it. The girls had a blast but Caroline did not want to do anything else at the museum except play in the village with the cars. She is almost too big for them, her knees were up so high but she stuffed herself inside. Sadly that is all I have pictures of. I forced her (not really but close) to go see the other things in the museum. Caroline played in the village a while before Addi joined her.But then they had a great time playing, filling the cars up with gas, playing in the grocery store, etc.

Sorry that I have not updated the blog much but my two excuses are: 1. I have not taken any pictures lately (hard to update with no pics) and 2. I started a new job and have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all my new knowledge (or lack of)! I will try and do a better job to update the blog... oh I have already signed Caroline up for swim lessons starting Memorial day... she is going to be swimming all by herself and I am can't wait!!!
