The kids were super excited to start their vacation with a plane ride. This was a first for Elizabeth and Eli.
Especially since the pilots let them pretend to be the pilot at the end of the flight.
First stop was in Sedona, AZ. The kids played a Slide Rock State park, in very COLD water!
Checking out a bridge in Sedona
Eli wanted his picture taken with the big horse in downtown Sedona.
Next stop hiking in Mammoth Lake.
This is Devils Postpile. After the kids climbed on the lava rocks we saw the sign that said no climbing. Oppsy
Final destination, Carson City for Greg to work and us to play. The kids love the children's museum in Carson. I think we went there about 3 times during our week stay.
One of the kids other favorite museums is in Reno. The climbing the clouds is where the kids were most of the time.
We made them look at the other exhibits before they could play in the water and climb the clouds, where they spent most of their time.
This is a nice walking trail that connects to our condo. It goes all the way to the town of Genoa but we have never made it that far. In the evenings we would go for a little walk to get out that last bit of energy!
Another favorite place is a bounce house place in Reno. We discovered it last time we went out there. The kids love running around that place and playing.
Can't go to Carson without going to Lake Tahoe. It was a beautiful day to hang out on the beach and watch the kids play in the cold water of Lake Tahoe.
Caroline got on that little inner tube (shown above) and had one paddle and paddled her way out to the rocks. She climbed to the top then paddled her way back!
A first for us was taking a train ride at one of the local parks. We have been to Carson many times, lived there for three years and never took this train ride. The kids loved it, especially when....
we had a derailment!!!
We had a great vacation and then had to quickly get ready to start school a few days later.
