The chicks are here, the chicks are here! Caroline has been checking every day to see if they had arrived yet!!! We got the call at 6:30am from the post office telling us our chicks had arrived and to come get them! Greg and Caroline left right away to go pick them up. The chicks have been chirping all day! Such a sweet sound but who knew they would be so loud? We are so excited to start this new adventure of raising our own chickens for both eggs and meat.

2nd Grade!!!
I can't believe it but my baby is in 2nd grade now. Where has the time gone? This morning we all sat together and had breakfast, then
off to school we went. Eli and Elizabeth are excited to be outside walking with Caroline but were not excited that she stayed at school and they did not.
Caroline loves that she can walk to school everyday. It has not gotten old for her yet.
After a full day of school I had a very healthy snack waiting for her.... she had to eat the carrots before she could have the butterfinger... priorities! Caroline said she had a great day at school. Caroline said her teacher was really nice but that she did tell them she can be mean!

It's that time! Time to get ready for some chicks! That is right we are starting a new adventure in our household (a 7 yr old and two 2 yr olds wasn't enough). We are going to start raising some chickens! Caroline is excited about the chicks... not really the chickens. I am hoping once she sees them as chicks and watches them grow up to be chickens she will not be so scared of chickens... we shall see. She is enjoying helping her daddy get the chicks beds ready though!
It has been a very wet summer. The day finally came when we had not thunder/lightening with a rain storm so the kids could go play. They were so excited to put on their suits and play in the rain.
Caroline had an 80's roller skating party she attended. She decided she wanted to wear on the the dresses my aunt gave me that was her daughters from the 80's.

Singing
Elizabeth LOVES to sing and sing loudly. She sings "Jesus Loves me", "Holy Holy Holy", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Happy Birthday", and "Old MacDonald". The problem is she will not do it for the camera or when other people are around she will either not sing or will be so quiet you can barely hear her. So I finally got some of her singing this morning during breakfast.
Cheer Dance Camp
Caroline went to cheer dance camp again this year. She had a good time and actually did "perform" instead of watching everyone else "perform". I was very proud of her!
Sweet Kids
All summer Greg and I have been blessed with a date night every week. That means we were able to bless a college student by letting her watch our kids! Our kids LOVE Miss Caidon! On her last night to babysit before heading back to college the kids made her cards and baked her a cake. I should have gotten a picture of her with them, but I was trying to get out of the house on time.
Now who can resist such a sweet smile?

Variety of Pics
We decided to change things up in the play room. So we moved out the table and chairs we had and brought out Caroline's old train set. The kids have enjoyed playing with the train. Although Eli and Lizzy like taking it apart too... mommy does not like putting it back together!
We had a dress-up dance party that all got involved in. Eli asked for the tutu... so he is wearing it! He also asked for a dress but I did not put that pic on here this time. I decided after this party that I need to look into buying boy dress-up clothes:)
We had a watch for the storm party outside last night. We watched the lightning and heard the thunder (which if it got too loud Elizabeth would say "go inside"). Then we finally got to see a little bit of rain. Most of the rain missed us but we got just a bit. The kids had a great time sitting on the porch, they actually sat pretty still for a long time!
