Life on the Farm

Yesterday Star (one of our goats) had been staying close to the "birthing center" while all the other goats were wondering around the farm. I was thinking it must be time for her to deliver. When Greg took his lunch break we went outside to check on the goats and heard Star give an unusual sound. We decided to check it out... sounded like maybe she was giving birth. By the time we got there... this is what we found!!!
She had a pretty big belly for just one little kid... so we kept watching her and here is what happened...(Do NOT watch if you get squeamish).

Two sweet baby kids... they are pretty cute. I will post an updated pic later, but one is a fluffy soft mostly black (and bigger) and one has black and white intermixed with some brown (and the smaller one). They are pretty cute to watch.

School Time!!!

I don't know where the time has gone but we have started a new season in our lives.... ALL kids at school ALL day! It makes for a pretty quiet house. Greg and I have also been able to have a little bit of us time since he does not go to work until 9 and we drop the kids off at 7:30. I am still adjusting to this new norm. The kids have loved their new school. Unfortunately this is Caroline's 4th (and last) elementary school. She is in 5th grade now and will be in Junior High next year (which is just across the driveway from the elementary). Eli and Elizabeth started Kindergarten. This will be the only year all three kids are at the same school. They get to ride the bus home three days a week right now but we shall see how long that lasts. They don't get home til almost 5pm when they ride the bus home. Greg and I have been able to get some things done on the house, like hang doors and trim work. I am also able to blog some. Hopefully I will be able to keep it up since I have a few extra minutes now!

Long Time No Blog

I know it has been a long time since I have blog. The good news is that ALL my kiddos are in school now, so I have more time to blog, and clean house, and run errands.
We have finally moved into our new house. As Eli says when inviting friends over "it's the big red house."
The weekend before school started (aka last weekend) we took the kids on a surprise adventure. We told them to get dressed and ready we are leaving for an adventure and would not tell them where we were going... Caroline had a hard time accepting that.. kept asking questions and wanting to know exactly where we were going.
First stop Dinosaur Valley State Park! It is not far from our new house but have not had a chance to take the kids. They absolutely love coming to this State Park. First place we stopped was to say hi to their dinosaurs.

There are a lot of hiking trails but we never get to hike them because you have to cross water... water means stop and play. Although for one little girl she was not happy!!! She has to wear water shoes and did not like it one bit. Her mean daddy made her get in the water with them, then guess what happened.....
that's right, she became all smiles once she realized how much fun it it to play in the water!

Next stop, Dublin Bottling Works (aka. Dublin Dr. Pepper bottling plant). They used to make/bottle Dr. Pepper with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It was labeled Dublin Dr. Pepper. Then Dr. Pepper sold to Snapple and they did not like that it said Dublin on it so they do not bottle Dr. Pepper any more, However, they do bottle some other great tasting drinks there. We took the tour, which consists of drinking all you wont while in the bottling plant. Then learned some history of the plant, followed by eating at the Old Doc's Soda Shop and drinking more of their delicious drinks! Boy did we have some sugar in our system!
The final place we went was through a windmill farm. It was a drive through place so we did not get out nor did I take any pictures of them. Over all the kids had a great day on their adventure. We ended the day by having friends come over for dinner.
