Fire Station

This weekend we have been on a family mission trip through our church. We have been working with Mission Arlington. The kids have had a great time playing with the kids in the apartment complex that we have worked with the last two days as well as helping sort clothes at the mission. While we were in Arlington we stopped by our friends fire station saw the fire trucks and had a tour of the station. Kids and adults enjoyed seeing all the sights at the fire station...Oh except for Elizabeth, she did not enjoy it as you will see she is not in any of the pictures.

Camping at Cooper Lake State Park

Last weekend we went camping with some friends in East Texas.
Greg out in the water with most of the kids
They had a nice playground that we went to early in the morning before it was too hot.
Sassy girl!
Lizzy and Jillian had a great time making "cookies" out of rocks.
We also had a fun time throwing water balloons at every one.
We did not "rough" it like we normally do... but it is July in Texas, so we stayed in an a/c shelter that also had beds... but we supplied our own linens and had to walk to the bathroom (gotta be points in there for that).
I conveniently left my bathing suit at home, so Greg got to do all the lake time with the kids!
Greg is getting the campfire ready for cooking our dinner...not sure what his friend Jacob was doing...
After camping we hit the road for a slight detour home... we went from East Texas to Northern Arkansas. Greg's Aunt's mom had passed away so we got up early our last day and started the drive up there, stayed a few hours to hang out with them then drove home (ended up a 16 hr drive)... below is the drive home.. about one hour into our drive, the kids had had dinner and were all fast asleep and stayed that way most of the 8.5 hrs home.

Swimming and More

Well Eli and Elizabeth are doing another swim lesson... after having to jump into the pool fully clothed to save Eli we decided another lesson would probably be a good idea. Plus Elizabeth loves the idea that Caroline is on the Seal swim team and has a swim cap with her name on it and now Lizzy is on a Seal Pup and has a cap with her name. Caroline actually did Seal Pups when she was their age but it was a big class and she was too busy watching others to pay attention. So far Eli and Lizzy have had one on one attention. There are three kids and one coach and two helpers. It is great! Eli and Lizzy are the two out of the water, Eli in blue and Lizzy in pink.
SILLY FACE!
New Do...I love long hair on little girls... but am learning that with fine hair when you don't have much, shorter is better. So Lizzy got a hair cut and is loving the Do!
Eli also got a haircut... sadly he had more hair on the ground after his hair cut than Lizzy did!
