Spartan 2012

Pre-race
Looking a little scared of the upcoming 13.5 mile, 30+obstacle run!
And they are off!!! See you in a few hours!
3 hours later here he is... not done but getting closer.
Getting muddy going under the barbed wire.
After getting all muddy then he gets to try and climb up a wall that is caked with mud, as well as the rope being caked with mud. It was definitely a team work project to get up and over the wall.
Sorry that this pic did not turn the right way for me, not sure what happened, but Greg is finally at his 2nd to last obstacle... the ring of fire to jump over!
He can see the finish line and is happy he is still alive.
Final obstacle!!! Nope he did not care if he was hit.
The after photo... everyone got a medal that finished!!! So proud of my man!!!!

Dancing

We went to Babe's for dinner last night with my parents and Brian and Hannah. The girls talked and talked about getting to dance at Babe's but when the time came it took some convincing to get them to dance but they finally did!

Slumber Party

This year to celebrate her birthday Caroline wanted a slumber party. We agreed but said she could only invite a few friends. We had a dress-up party so we had punch to drink and then a dirt cake. That is in honor of my girl who loves to play dress-up and also loves to play in the dirt.
Here are the girls all dressed up waiting for cake and punch.

Ok so I was a bit naive about the slumber party. I thought the girls would be tired earlier than they were!!! They all tried to sleep next to each other but the arrangement below is not the reality of how they went to sleep. They did need more room between them in order to fall asleep. Overall I think the girls had a great time but it took us old parents a bit to recover from the lake of sleep!

Caroline is 8!!!

Sorry I am a little late posting these pictures. Our girl turned 8 the day after Thanksgiving! She had a great day celebrating with everyone. As our tradition continues we wake up the birthday girl early in the morning singing and giving gifts.
Caroline loved her poncho she received from her Aunt May and Uncle Barclay (now she can match her little sister).
Anything sparkly is a great thing, so this sparkly outfit from Granna and Papa was a huge hit.
Finally Caroline got some BOB's... similar to TOMs but a bit cheaper!!
Caroline showing off her stylish poncho and BOB's with her pj's!
Overall she had a great day and loves being 8 because she does not have to sit in a booster seat any more!!!
