New Playground!

We have a new playground in the neighborhood! It may look like a big dirt pile to you, but it looks like a fun playground for three precious children. The neighborhood has started building more homes so we have lots of dirt piles to be playing on. I was a bit afraid the red dirt would not come out of the clothes, but if washed immediately the most amazing thing happens.... it does come out!

Sad Day on the Farm

This morning when we went out to feed and give water to our chicks we found.... 16 dead!!!! They were our broilers (meat chicks), which only leaves us with 11. We don't know what killed them. We did not see any signs that something got in the pen with them, but somehow we lost 16. I hope we do not lose any more. Thankfully it did not happen when Greg was out of town so he could pick them up and bury them and I did not have too!

Sharing and Playing

They do share well sometimes...
We don't have room for our trampoline but we do have room for an inflatable jumper (that a friend gave us). It has been nice the last two day so we have been getting out extra energy by jumping!

Seeing Dana

Those of you who watched the Olympics (which is not us) might have seen Dana Vollmer win some gold in swimming. Well she is from our town and actually her mom teaches at Caroline's school. Our town had a big celebration for her this past Saturday. Caroline and her friend Katie wanted to go see Dana so we joined the motorcade watchers!

Chick Update

We enjoyed the chicks while they were at the house. The kids loved petting them and looking at them, but Caroline did not like to hold them because she did not like the way their feet felt on her hands.
We are definitely enjoying having them out at pasture too. It is a bit less work and we have our patio back again. We go see them every morning and move them around the pasture in their pens every day so they have new grass and bugs to eat! They are pretty cute aren't they!
