Fun in the Sun

We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday and got out to enjoy it! We played on the trampoline for a little bit then met some friends at the park. All the kids love the trampoline. I think it will be used quite a bit this spring and summer.

We got to the park a little before our friends so Caroline loved pushing Eli and Elizabeth. They also liked it best when Caroline pushed them.. they would give her the biggest smiles.

I had to have Caroline standing in front of them to get these smiles.

Girls

Sisterly love! Caroline loves being a big sister. She actually changed a diaper this week by herself. She offered and we said sure!!! Elizabeth is busy busy all the time so she is a little harder to play with than Eli who will sit where you put him. I got both girls sitting but not looking at the camera at the same time. Elizabeth was smiling at her daddy. At school the kinders have an alphabet challenge. They have to say all the letters, the sounds they make, the sign language for each letter and sign the animal that starts with that letter. Once you can do all of those things you get a medal! Caroline has been talking about it for about 2 weeks. She will come home and tell me who all has medals (even the kids in the other kinder classes). She also told me she tried it last week but forgot the letter F. Well as we have practiced and talked about it she said she was not ready to do it again... but then she came home yesterday with a medal!!! She succeeded and got the medal!!! She wore it to AWANA's last night and school today.

Eli and Elizabeth are growing fast. They are finally holding their own bottle. Ok Eli has actually been doing that for awhile. Elizabeth has been content to let us hold it for her... she did not have any desire to do any of the extra work to get her food. They are both now feeding themselves which does help make my work load a little less when I have to feed them both by myself. The other night we were doing bath time and I realized I did not have any pics of them in the bathtub. I knew they would appreciate these pics when they get older so I left them to go get the camera to get a bath tub photo (Greg was in there so they were not unattended)!
I also realized I have not been working on teaching Eli and Elizabeth necessary skills. So I have been trying to remedy that:

Long Day!

We started our Saturday with a little haircut. Eli has had several trimmings of hair around his ears (evidently baby boys hair is not supposed to touch their ears). Greg went to work giving Eli a full haircut (the back of his hair was getting long too). Here's the finished product. After the haircut we went to see some friends cows. Greg needed some "natural fertilizer" for our garden and Caroline wanted to see some cows. The super mom that I am did not bring the camera for the cow-time we had. Caroline had the opportunity to had feed one of the cows but she decided the cow was too big. She did get to see a week old calf though. There were several calves there to see and a couple of bulls. Eli and Elizabeth stayed in the truck. It was their nap time and they were supposed to be sleeping. Eli did but Elizabeth did not.
By the end of the day Eli was all tuckered out. When I walked into the living room Eli was all folded over with his eyes closed. Elizabeth was trying to find a way out of the living room. I went to get my camera to get a pic of Eli and Elizabeth saw me so she headed over... which then woke Eli up... so this is what I have....

You get the idea... just imagine Eli with his eyes closed!

Terrific Kid

Friday was Terrific Kid award ceremony day at Caroline's school. It worked out nicely that it was during Greg's usual lunch break so he was able to go also. I am still not sure what qualifies Caroline to be a terrific kid at school... we all know she is one, but I am not sure why the school thinks she is a terrific kid... I am beginning to think it is a ploy to get us to put a bumper sticker on our car to show support to our school district:)
So here is Caroline in line with all the other Terrific Kindergarten Kids waiting to get her award.
Caroline learning to shake hands properly and get her Terrific Kid bumper sticker.
Getting her Terrific Kid pencil!
The principal is telling all the kids to smile big for the pictures being taken. I did not get any pictures with Caroline smiling! She kept telling me that she wanted me to take her home with me (instead of riding the bus home). I kept trying to tell her she needed to smile.
Then they were shaking Mrs. Johnson's hand and getting ready to head back to class.
I finally was able to tell Caroline that if she did not smile she was going to be riding the bus home. So here is what I got....
I was still zoomed in from the earlier pics so it is a big smile and she got to ride home with the family instead of the bus!

9 months!

Can you believe my babies are 9 months old now? Elizabeth is all over the place crawling now. Eli is finally rolling over so he moves a little but not nearly as fast or as far as his sister. Elizabeth is still in the lead for weight and height. She weighs 18lbs4 oz (40%), height is 28.75" (90%). Eli is is on the growth chart but barely. He weighs 16lbs12oz (5%), height 26.75" (7%). Caroline as you know from earlier posts loves to fix hair, even her brothers: Greg's aunt sent the kids the cutest blankets. Caroline had an orange one from several years ago, but got a new bigger one with her name on it. She used to sleep with the orange one on her bed all the time, but as soon as she got her new one, she tossed the orange one to the ground and put her new bigger one on her bed. Eli is very good about sharing his sweet blanket with his big sister. That boy loves his big sister. She can always get him to give the biggest smiles.

On The Move

Life is busier now in the Jennings household. Elizabeth is constantly on the move. She looks innocent in the picture but before she saw the camera she was trying to crawl over Eli to get to the diaper bag. They both love playing with it and well Elizabeth likes to play with anything Eli is playing with (foreshadowing of what is coming in the near future). So since Eli was playing with the diaper bag Elizabeth crawled over to play with it also. I don't know what she was thinking other than... "I'm gonna make my brother cry"... and cry he did... he did not push her off or try to get away... he just laid there and cried til mommy saved him from little sister.
The three munchkins! Eli was not too sure about having his picture taken again, but the girls where happy to smile.
