Caroline and I went to the zoo last Friday. Greg had a doctor's appointment in Ft. Worth near the zoo so he dropped us off at the zoo while he went to the doctor. It was supposed to be a nice quick zoo visit. However, Greg's appointment was a lot longer than I expected and I did not have any snacks, drinks, or money with me. So someone was a little grumpy about being hungry and thirsty, Caroline was too. Just kidding the grumpiness was mainly Caroline, until I got too hot then it was both of us:) The tigers had a way of cooling off when they got hot. We watched this one tiger splash all around in the water. The other tigers played chase then went to see what the first tiger was doing in the water.
Greg is so good in the kitchen with Caroline. He will ask Caroline to help him all the time when he is in the kitchen. Caroline will ask me if she can help and it is a struggle for me to say yes and find something for her to do. Well on this day Greg, Caroline and Hannah are all making cookies. They were pretty good too!
Greg and Caroline getting some swim time in. I rarely get to sit on the side lines during swimming but this night I did.
Since Greg had been in Nevada, Caroline had learned some new tricks in the pool. So here Caroline is showing Daddy how she can jump over his head. Check out Greg's expression, too cute!

Fertilizer
I don't know what all was in the organic fertilizer Greg put on our vegetable garden this year, but this is the largest zucchini I have ever seen. Caroline had a big smile on her face when I showed it to her, but she was too busy looking at something on the TV to look at the camera for the picture. We have not had any other large vegetables, actually our squash has been rather small so I was shocked to see this zucchini on our plant.

Last Days in NV
Since Caroline had the sinus infection we ended up not doing much a lot of the week. Wednesday we did absolutely nothing but lay around and watch movies. Caroline continued to have fever even with three doses of antibiotic so I decided we needed a day of not doing anything. Caroline had been waking up several times a night crying because she could not breathe, therefore Greg and I were also exhausted. Caroline finally had a good night Wednesday night so Thursday we visited with friends. Friday we went to the children's museum to play for a bit. Here are some pics from that adventure.

I don't know if she is pretending to be a state legislator or what, but she said something about me needing to be quiet because she was going to be talking to "Nicholas". (The notebooks are full of information about Nevada, in case you were wondering).

NV Activities
No visit to the grandparents RV is complete without a chance to drive the big rig! Caroline loved driving the coach. She buckled herself up (safety is important), and drove away (to pretend land)!
No trip to Carson is complete without a trip to Fuji park and climbing the bike. Every time we went to this park when we lived here and when we come to visit Caroline climbs this bike.
Caroline and Grandpa played on the playground together.

Then we did some swimming. It was a bit cold in the pool and Caroline was not too sure she wanted to be in it... but I did not get in the cold water to have her stand on the stairs watching so in she came.
Then to the "warm pool" or hot tub as most call it. I enjoyed that pool much better. As did grandpa and Caroline.
We did not do that much on Tues but it was too much for Caroline. All we have done today is lay around in bed and watch movies. Caroline still gets a fever about twice a day and this morning was no exception. We plan on just laying around today so she will hopefully start feeling better by tomorrow.

NEVADA
So we made it to NV in one piece however things did go down hill a bit. Caroline had fever starting last night but she actually did a great job traveling (she did not feel well and slept). However once we got here she started feeling worse, this I know because she started being very disobedient and disrespectful and a few minutes later she had high fever. After nap time we went to visit with my parents at their RV. In case you did not know my parents have been RV'ing all over the west coast this summer and decided to come visit with us while we were in NV since they were in the area. Back to the story... once at my parents C's fever kept increasing so we decided to call her pedi here and get her an appointment. As we were leaving my parents RV I was carrying C... and yes fell down the stairs.... several stairs. Caroline was not hurt too bad, a little red spot on her back. I took most of the brunt of the fall. I have a huge grapefruit size bruise on the back of my leg, smaller apple size bruise on my lower back, and small swelling on my lower leg. Greg said that I put embarrassing photos of him on the blog and that I needed to put the one of my big bruise on here... so enjoy my pain!
We did go to the pedi and C has a sinus infection and is now on antibiotics. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

4th of July Photos
Caroline and Addi are enjoying "story time" with Nanna. We did not have much relaxation time with all the swimming and boating but we did take a little time out for stories.
Caroline and Addi are trying to decide if they are going to jump.... uuuhhhmmmm NO! That was the decision. They came right back down via the stairs.
Caroline was willing to jump off the lower dock though. She was learning how to do a cannon ball... she holds her knees while standing on the dock, then jumps in and lets go of her knees.... just a little bit more practice and she will get it right!
Greg did get some good wake boarding time. He did so much better this year getting up than last year.
4th of July
We had a great time at the Durand's Lake house for the 4th of July. I however forgot to bring my camera so I borrowed the Durand's camera... I have also not had a chance to get the pics from them, so if you are wanting to see some pics of the weekend, you can click on the Durand link on the right. The second blog has 4th of July pics. I will try to get a copy of the pics and post them soon.

Last Zoo Monday!
This past Monday was by far the best weather we have had. It was cloudy all morning with a slight breeze... so I did not sweat the whole time I was at the zoo! This will probably be the last time I go this summer, 100 degrees is a little too hot to be out at the zoo. Come fall we will be there a lot more. This time we brought some friends with us. Below is: Addi, Caroline, Cooper, Kaitlyn, and Madelyn. Of course we had to take the train again (esp since it was broken last week).
When we got to the end of the zoo at the Texas section there was this very cute penguin. I know we don't have penguins in Texas but I am guessing since the penguin exhibit is just outside the Texas exhibit they brought him over. Caroline loved seeing him up close. She kept getting too close and the zoo keeper would put his hand in front of her face and tell her she needed to back up some or the penguin might bite her.
She and Addi decided to go a different route to see the penguin up close...
