Lake Tahoe

Greg needed to travel to Carson City, Nevada for work and we all decided to go with him. We were able to visit with some old friends while we were there. Below is a picture of Caroline and her friend Abbi. Similar to Addi yet different. They had a great time playing and acted like they had not been separated for 10 months. When they first saw each other they were in Sunday School. I am told they just sat on the bench and hugged each other for five minutes. So cute:) So all but one day of our 10 day stay it was cold, wet, and cloudy. I tried and tried to take a picture of Lake Tahoe but it was so cloudy that we rarely saw the tops of the mountains. The day we were leaving this was the best shot I could get of the lake. It truly is a beautiful blue lake that is so clear you can see lots of big rocks below the water surface. The first picture you can see some of the snow at the top of the mountain.

One of our favorite places when we lived in Carson was fuji park (right by Costco, play then shop). It has a great playground and also is a dog park. The dogs are as entertaining if not more entertaining that the playground. One of Caroline's favorite things to do when we visited the park was "riding the yellow bike". I did not realize how much she has grown, but when we moved to Texas, Caroline was not able to actually climb on the bike. She would just pretend. This time she went right up to it and climb all the way up.We also were able to play and catch up with some other friends. The Smith's so graciously had us over for dinner. We played with another of Caroline's friend, Jessica. I did not get to take pictures at these events but we had a great seeing our friends. Oh, Caroline was also a big hit at Greg's work. She even gave Greg's co-worker, Dwight, a kiss... I think he was shocked! Caroline has definitely become more outgoing.

Where Are We?

Where could we be that there is snow on the mountains and it is snowing at the end of May? Those of you who know where we are don't count. Only those who are not sure where we are should respond. Hint: Granbury has been in the 90's and there are no mountains!

Here are some of the fun things we have been able to do during the snow or rain storms. Caroline was able to go exploring: climbing on rocks and of course playing in the water. Although Caroline said she was fishing. She did catch some stuff, but it was not a fish.

When it was really bad outside we were able to go to the community center and play. They have a full size basketball court, weights, cardio equipment, indoor track, indoor playground, and of course this Winnie the Pooh bouncy house. The bouncy house was Caroline's favorite activity. We also did a little shopping while in between the rain/sleet. Is it still called shopping if you don't buy anything but you do go in the stores? We found some good hot chocolate and watched this fountain splash.

New Outside Toys

It has been so nice and warm here and we did not have very many outside toys. So we did a little shopping (to help boost the economy of course) and bought Caroline some fun things to play with outside. Especially now that she can't jump on her trampoline we had to find alternatives. The first thing is a water/sand toy. We did not have sand the first time we played with it but now that we do it is an even bigger hit. Caroline loves to play with water and sand, anything that she can play with to get her dirty she likes. Then we got her an outdoor bowling set. She likes to play with it but only on non windy days... on windy days it has to be in the garage or she does not have a chance to knock down the pins. The last pic is her on her tricycle. She has had it for awhile but I had not taken a picture of her on it that I could think of so I added it to her outdoor play blog. Plus she looks cute:) We did also buy her a great slide/pool but we have not had a chance to blow it up and play with it yet... but there will be pics of it in the future!!!

Strawberry Pickin'

We went to the local organic farm to pick some very delicious strawberries. Although the girls (Caroline and her best friend Addi) seemed to eat more than they put in the box. It was a very hot day for May but as long as you can eat strawberries, who cares how hot it is outside?

Check me out! Sun shades, golden tan, strawberry juice all down my chin. The CATS MEOW!

Look at those dirty, strawberry juiced faces and full mouths!
Click on the picture to make it larger so you can really see those cute faces.

What is strawberry pickin' if you don't give sweet strawberry kisses to your friend?

The loot!!! That is right we picked almost 15 lbs worth of strawberries... I only picked a third of that, Tricia is quite the strawberry picker. She actually went back to pick more in her half full box while waiting to be checked out. Me, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some faces and hands. Talk about dirty because not only did they pick strawberries, but yes they had to play in the dirt too!
